WHY IT COSTS WHAT IT COSTS

A craft kit ends.
This one keeps going.

Three ways to buy a screen-free afternoon, and what each one actually leaves behind once the building stops.

A craft kit from the shop aisle

$5–$15

One-off

  • Clay, a couple of tools, an instruction sheet
  • Seven or eight things to make
  • One set of instructions, one age band
  • Instructions to follow, but no stories

Finished when the object is finished.

A monthly activity box

From $35

Every month

  • A new box arrives each month
  • Charged again next month, and the month after
  • Stop paying and the boxes stop
  • Fixed age band — a younger sibling needs their own

The cost keeps arriving too.

The 12 Animal Adventures Kit

$67

Once, then never again

  • 12 guided builds and 24 story adventures — 36 activities
  • Both reading levels included — emailed the moment you order
  • Every story teaches a named skill — confidence, kindness, patience, resilience
  • Visual build cards, so they can start without you

The story keeps going after the clay dries.

The 12 Animal Adventures Kit, in three numbers

$0a month, for ever
24stories that arrive after the building stops
3–8the ages one purchase covers

The difference is not the clay. Clay is the cheap part. It is twenty-four stories written twice over — one version for a three-year-old, one for a seven-year-old — each carrying a skill worth talking about at dinner. That is the part a shop-aisle kit cannot put in the box, and the part you stop receiving the month you cancel a subscription.

BUILD · READ · GROW

Twelve builds. Twenty-four stories.
Every story builds a skill.

Each animal carries its own Social-Emotional Learning theme — Leo's stories are about confidence — and comes with two different stories, one written for ages 3–5 and another for ages 6–8. Twenty-four stories in all, building confidence, kindness, patience, resilience and creativity while they play.

WHY SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING MATTERS

Skills they carry beyond playtime.

Social-Emotional Learning helps children build confidence, resilience and emotional skills they use every day — making friends, solving problems, trying something new.

Builds confidenceEncourages kindnessSupports resilienceDevelops patienceInspires creativityBuilds emotional awareness

THE 4PM PROBLEM

You already know how this goes.

Another activity box

  • Opened, built in nine minutes, abandoned
  • You end up doing most of it
  • Nothing left once the building stops
  • One age band — outgrown by next birthday
  • Back to the tablet by half past four

The 12 Animal Adventures Kit

  • Build it, read its story, then play it out
  • Visual cards mean they can start without you
  • The story keeps going after the clay dries
  • It grows with them instead of being outgrown
  • 30+ minutes, and you get dinner cooked

BEFORE YOU BUY

The questions parents actually ask.

Will it really hold their attention, or is it another nine-minute toy?

The build is only the first third. Each animal is paired with a story, and the story sets up imaginative play afterwards. That is the design: 12 builds, 24 story adventures, 36 activities in total, and roughly 6+ hours of play across them. Most children get 30+ minutes out of a single sitting.

My child can't read yet. Is this still for them?

Yes. Every order includes both collections. The Early Reader collection (ages 3–5) is written to be read together with you. The Growing Reader collection (ages 6–8) is written for independent reading. These are different stories, not the same story printed twice — each animal has a theme, and a separate story written for each age, which is how 12 animals become 24 story adventures. The build cards themselves are visual, so a three-year-old can start without reading a word.

Are the storybooks printed books, or digital?

Digital. All 24 story adventures are emailed to you right after checkout, so you can read them on a phone or tablet, or print them at home. Only the clay kit is posted. Nothing about the stories is waiting on the courier.

Is the clay safe?

The clay is non-toxic and chosen for small hands aged 3 and up. As with any craft material, supervise the youngest children.

Sensory experience as well as storytelling

What I liked most was the sensory experience as well as the storytelling, and the variety. They enjoyed everything, and using hands on craft. An audio book of the stories would be great. Gifted kit - honest review, unedited.

Thank you for the honest feedback, especially on the audiobooks.

Good news: they already exist. The Younger Storybook Collection audiobook is $4.90 and the Older is $7.90, both on the product page. Clearly we haven't made them easy enough to find — that's on us, and we're fixing it.

Really glad the sensory side and the storytelling worked together. That pairing is the whole point of the kit.
